On commitment

But think about this. Deepening intimacy without defining a level of commitment is dangerous. It's like going mountain climbing with a partner who isn't sure she wants responsibility of holding your rope. When you've climbed two thousand feet up a mountain face, you don't want to have a conversation about how she feels "tied down" by your relationship. In the same way, many people experience deep hurt when they open themselves up emotionally and physically only to be abandoned by someone who proclaims he's not ready for a "serious commitment".
-Joshua Harris, I Kissed Dating Goodbye
I swear, every word in this paragraph helped me understand about the importance of commitment  in every relationship. No one wants to be abandoned and left out especially when much has been invested in the relationship. Committing without thinking and reflecting properly can only result to hurting yourself, the other person or both parties. That's inevitable.
Put into simple terms, committing to someone is a big risk. You have to expect every possibility how you're relationship will turn out. Then comes, enduring all of it. The moment you signed up for it, there is no turning back. You already gambled on it. It will be great if you win, but what if you don't?  There's always two sides of the coin, remember? :)

Book Cravings

Is there such thing as book cravings? If there is, then that's what I'm having right now. I want to read good books but I don't have the luxury of time and money. Too bad, isn't it? Haaay. Maybe, I can make amends to my daily schedule/routine to make time for reading but still I don't have the money. Haha! I am currently bankrupt as we speak since I just bought a camera last weekend. Oh well, I couldn't wait for the next pay day or maybe I can ask my mom to buy me a book?! Hmmm.. /winks

And also, my Birthday is coming up. Twenty-two more days and I'll be turning twenty-one. I am getting old but as what I've read somewhere, "Age is just an issue of the mind and matter. If you don't mind it, it won't matter". Wahaha. What a great excuse. :p

This year, I want to celebrate my birthday with my family and as well as my "friends". Friends who have always been there for me through good times and bad times. What's the point of spending your special day with people who aren't that special to you or those who you'd see and hear about when there are events coming up and not when you just need someone to talk to about anything? Think about it. I know I have a point on this. :)

I love to Read

I was able to read and finish two books this month. Ever since I always loved to read but I wasn't really serious about it until now. It all started when I always go to National Bookstore after my OJT shift scanning for books that caught my attention. It's mostly about love though. Haha. I've always been a self-confessed hopeless romantic but I never really show it to people openly. I'm just not comfortable showing and expressing my feelings and all. :P

Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
This is actually the first book I own. Haha. Bought it late August since I was soo interested with the story and aside from the fact that it's a Best Seller. While I was reading it, I found myself falling in love with Elizabeth Gilbert as an author and as a person. She never fails to amaze me on how she writes down her thoughts and how brave she was to travel alone and discover who she really is as a person after such a bad divorce and  a depressing break-up then found a new love in the end. Isn't it sweet? She found her true love in a place where she least expects it. I can't wait to watch the movie based on this book. I can't seem to imagine Julia Roberts playing as Elizabeth. Hmmm. :)

The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
My cousin introduced me with this one. The title is so catchy. How Mitch Albom wrote the book was soo unique. It was quite short though. It's good for one day read. Haha. I just finished it today actually. Reading has been one of my past times while I sit here facing the computer and got nothing to do for the whole day at work. Haha. Without this, I could have died with boredom. Haha. You'll really learn and realize things about life while reading this book; Reality regarding death and life.
